YMCA Childcare

The Visalia YMCA has immediate openings for full and part-time childcare staff who want to be a part of a strong, supportive and innovative team.  Available childcare staff positions in preschool and school age programs include Teacher’s Aides, Teachers, Lead Teachers, Site Directors and Site Supervisors.  Some positions require college level units and previous experience.  Salaries vary according to position, skill and experience.  Applicants possessing Childcare permits may be eligible for higher paying positions.  Full-time positions include a desirable benefit package including vacation, medical and dental coverage, and retirement.  

 

Position:

Site Director- Full-Time/Part-Time ($10.57 - $14.77)

Qualifications:     

  • 15 hours of Pediatric Health and Safety Training Must be completed within on month of hire. (4 hrs. CPR, 4 hrs First Aid, 7 hrs. Preventative Practice.)
  • 12 ECE or accepted units and 3 units in Administration and 4 yrs. experience OR 12 ECE or accepted units and 3 units in Administration and 2 yrs. experience OR BA min.
  • 12 ECE OR accepted units and 3 units in Administration and 1 yr. experience.

Responsibilities:   

  • Include, but are not limited to supervision of site, staff, and children, administrative duties, programming, scheduling, parent interaction, health and safety, and light housekeeping.

 

 

 

Position:

Lead Teacher- Full-Time/Part-Time ($10.51-$12.85)

Qualifications:

  • 15 hours of Pediatric Health and Safety Training Must be completed within on month of hire. (4 hrs. CPR, 4 hrs. First Aid, 7 hrs. Preventative Practice.)
  • Minimum 12 units ECE or accepted units.1 year of experience preferred Site director qualified preferred, see above.

Responsibilities

  • Include, but are not limited to assisting site director with supervision of site, staff and kids, administrative duties, programming, scheduling, parent interaction, health and safety, and light housekeeping.

 

Position:                      

 

Teacher II- Part-Time ($10.51-$12.85)

Qualifications:

  • 15 hours of Pediatric Health and Safety Training Must be completed within on month of hire. (4 hrs. CPR, 4 hrs. First Aid,7 hrs. Preventative Practice.)
  • Minimum 12 units ECE or accepted units.

Responsibilities:

  • Include, but are not limited to assisting site director with supervision of site, staff and kids, administrative duties, programming, scheduling, parent interaction, health and safety,and light housekeeping.

Position:

 

Teacher I- Part-Time ($9.14-$11.17)

 

Qualifications:

  • 15 hours of Pediatric Health and Safety Training Must be completed within on month of hire.(4 hrs. CPR, 4 hrs. First Aid, 7 hrs. Preventative Practice).
  • Minimum 6 units ECE or accepted units, and 6 additional units to be completed within one year of hire.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Include, but are not limited to assisting site director with supervision of site, staff and kids, administrative duties, programming, scheduling, parent interaction, health and safety, and light housekeeping.

Position: 

Teacher’s Aide- Part-Time ($8.00-$9.66)

Qualifications:

  • 15 hours of Pediatric Health and Safety Training Must be completed within on month of hire. (4 hrs. CPR, 4 hrs. First Aid, 7 hrs. Preventative Practice.)
  • Enrollment in ECE or accepted units and 6 additional units to be completed within one year of hire.

Responsibilities:

  • Include, but are not limited to assisting site director with supervision of site, staff and kids, administrative duties, programming, scheduling, parent interaction, health and safety,and light housekeeping.

 

Position:                      

 

Substitute Teacher/Aide- Part-Time ($8.00-$9.66)

 

Qualifications:

  • 15 hours of Pediatric Health and Safety Training Must be completed within on month of hire.(4 hrs. CPR, 4 hrs. First Aid,7 hrs. Preventative Practice.)
  • 0-12 units ECE or accepted units
  • Must have valid driver’s license, insurance, reliable transportation, and be flexible.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Include, but are not limited to substituting for site director, teacher or teacher’s aide.See above descriptions.

 

 

Position:                      

 

Bus/Van Driver- Part-Time ($8.18-$13.23)

(This position may be combined with other staff positions.)

 

Qualifications:

  • 15 hours of Pediatric Health and Safety Training Must be completed within on month of hire.(4 hrs. CPR, 4 hrs. First Aid, 7 hrs. Preventative Practice.)
  • Valid California Class B with a P driver’s license.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Include, but are not limited to transporting children for field trips, after school, etc., and assisting staff with children on field trips as needed.
